How to fold a suit coat

The secret of folding a suit coat is to make sure the wrinkles end up in places where wrinkles won’t get noticed.

Everybody starts pretty much the same way: by folding the pants over the hanger, as shown.
Now put the coat on the hanger over the pants.
To see this a little nicer, move the sleeves out of the way. This is where most people go wrong. They put the coat on the hanger the way they wear it, with the coat buttons matching with the button holes in an order. This approach will usually just puts extra wrinkles along the sides of the coat, likely to get wrinkles in front of the coat as well.
Look at the image right to see how to fold the coat instead. Fold the front of the coat all the way over, with one side of the coat and snug up against the pants.
Now fold the other side of the coat across, snug up against the pants on the other side
Now fold one sleeve down across the front of the coat and straighten the other sleeve. There will be wrinkles under the armpit, but people won’t find them. You may also get a few wrinkles at the shoulder which would look natural.
Repeat the same thing with the other sleeve.
You can put a plastic dry cleaning bag over the coat and pants at this point before packing, but that’s optional.
Put the coat and pants into the suitcase such a way that the coat will fold backwards instead of forwards.
Fasten the coat
Fold it
Fasten the straps of the suitcase to secure the folded coat.
